I began reading a book recommended to me by Charlie Umphred, VP of Marketing, “You 2″ (that’s You Squared) by Price Pritchett.
The book is about making quantum leaps in your performance to achieve dramatic breakthroughs. Pritchett describes how to accomplish far more, in less time, with only a fraction of the effort you’ve been giving.
In the chapter, “Suspend Disbelief” he makes an incredibly powerful point I want to share with you. He mentions that “Your skepticism, which you presume is based on rational thinking and an objective assessment of factual data about yourself, is rooted in mental junk. Your doubts are not the product of accurate thinking.”
“If you want to be skeptical of some ideas that truly deserve to be called into question, challenge the thoughts and beliefs that have argued against your taking a quantum leap.”
“Just act like you have complete faith. Merely do what you’d do if you knew you were going to succeed.”
“Doubt is what does the most damage.”
“If you must doubt something, doubt your limits.”
Wow, I love that! Who says the belief you have about your limitations is the correct thought. If you are inclined to be skeptical and question, then question the limiting beliefs you have, not the potential that you have.
Just think about what you could accomplish if you did that!
